My name is Katie Fritsch. I am an illustrator studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design. There are many different stories and perspectives that are waiting to be told. I am an avid listener and reader. Whether it’s reading an actual book or just listening to my friend’s stories or ideas, I believe that all those things help widen my views and perspectives outside what I already know. This kind of growth and emotion is what inspires me as an artist today. As an illustrator inspired by those things, I believe that visual language has the power to express topics, concepts and ideas that cannot always be shown through words alone. Being able to let others feel what one specific person(s) has been through is something that I think is very beautiful and meaningful. I aim to use my illustrations to help tell these stories and ideas, whether that be through animation, editorial, concept or even children’s book illustrations.
